De studier som er gjort peker allikevel p\u00e5 citikolin som et godt middel for \u00e5 motvirke denne sykdom.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Citikolin er et godt t\u00e5lt stoff [1]. Det brukes mot svekkelse av hjernen og annen nevrologiske sykdom [1]. Citikolin er vist \u00e5 v\u00e6re effektiv ved atferd- og kognitive -forstyrrelser [1]. Ofte er disse knyttet til kronisk sykdom hos eldre. Gode effekt er ogs\u00e5 funnet ved hjerneslag, hjerne traume, Parkinsons, og Alzheimers [1].<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Glaukom er en nevro -degenerativ sykdom. Celler i \u00f8yets netthinne d\u00f8r, og endring i synsnerven skjer. Vanlig form for glaukom er preget av varig h\u00f8yere trykk i \u00f8yet (IOP). Opptil en tredjedel av alle med glaukom har et normalt IOP. Behandling av glaukom er ofte i stand til \u00e5 kontrollere IOP. Det stopper allikevel ikke sykdommens utvikling mot det \u00e5 bli blind. Selv om \u00f8kt IOP er en viktig risiko, tyder dette p\u00e5 at trykk-uavhengige mekanismer ogs\u00e5 involvert.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Noen rapporter antyder at Citikolin kan v\u00e6re fordelaktig ved glaukom. Osborne og medarbeidere s\u00e5 for seg et stoff som kan beskytte nevroner, sannsynligvis vil dempe denne type celle d\u00f8d. Et krav til stoffet var at det kan n\u00e5 netthinnen i store nok mengder. Det m\u00e5tte ogs\u00e5 ha f\u00e5 eller ingen bivirkninger. Citikolin kan v\u00e6re et slikt middel.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Citikolin er en del i det \u00e5 bygge fosfolipider. I for det meste blir det laget fosfatydyl kolin (PtdCho). Forbedring av det \u00e5 lage PtdCho kan motvirke cell d\u00f8d, og gi beskytte nerver. Citikolin blir fort gjort om til til cytidin og kolin. Disse kommer inn i hjernecellene hver for seg. Der gir de nervene beskyttelse ved ved \u00e5 forbedre PtdCho-syntesen. Et av dem er det dopaminerge system. Dopamin er kjent som en viktig nevrotransmitter i \u00f8yet.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Det er ikke mange studier av Citikolin ved glaukom. Resultatene fra to lange studier viser at dette stoffet kan virke positivt p\u00e5 \u00f8ye skade fra denne sykdom. En annen studie viste at Citikolin kunne f\u00f8re til bedre \u00f8ye funksjon ved glaukom.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Disse tre studiene er i seg selv ikke nok til at Citikolin blir en vanlig terapi for glaukom. Resultatene passer allikevel godt med at Citikolin beskytter nerver, og gj\u00f8r dopamin system bedre.
